Requesting rides on the app
#
Riders can request rides through the RYDR app or on the web.
To request rides on the RYDR app, follow these steps after you’ve downloaded the app and created an account:
- Open the RYDR app and tap on the ‘Search destination’ field. Enter your desired drop-off location.
- Select your preferred ride type from the available options. You can learn more about different ride types in the RYDR ride types overview.
- Tap ‘Select RYDR’ to confirm your choice.
- Review and, if necessary, change your pickup location before proceeding. Tap ‘Confirm and request’ when you’re ready to request a ride.
- If you’ve enabled GPS locating in your phone settings, the RYDR app will automatically set your current address as the pickup location.
- To add an additional stop during your ride, tap the ‘+’ icon next to the listed addresses at the top of the ride screen.
- If you need to make a stop or leave the car for more than 5 minutes, kindly ask your driver to end the ride. You can then request a new ride when you’re ready to continue to your next destination.

Unable to request a ride

If you encounter issues while requesting a ride, they may be due to the following reasons:
- Payment method needs updating
- Insufficient funds to cover the ride cost
- No available drivers in your area
- Deactivated or deleted account
- Connectivity issues within the app or on your smartphone
To update your payment method, go to the RYDR app’s menu, and select ‘Payment,’ then ‘Add payment method.’ For declined payments, please contact your card issuer or digital wallet customer support.
In some rides, you may personalize your preferences for any ride type. These preferences may include vehicle temperature, a quiet ride, or assistance with luggage. To select your preferences, tap ‘Personalize your ride’ while waiting for your driver to arrive. Please note that some drivers may not be able to accommodate your selected preferences.
If you experience connectivity issues or problems with the app, please refer to the app’s support for assistance.
