Lost & found for riders

The most convenient way to recover a lost item is by contacting your RYDR driver directly. If you encounter any difficulties reaching your driver, we’re here to assist you in reconnecting with them.

Here are the steps to contact your driver for lost items:

  1. Report the lost item through the RYDR app or use the link provided in your email ride receipt.
  2. You’ll have the option to call or send a message to your driver. These contact options will remain available for 24 hours after your ride concludes. Please note that the RYDR app uses a masked phone number for calls and messages to protect your personal contact information.
  3. When leaving a message, we recommend providing the best contact number where the driver can reach you to facilitate a smoother item return process.

Lost Phones:

If you’ve lost the phone associated with your RYDR account or are unable to contact your driver, tap ‘Contact Support’ below so our team can assist you. Please provide an alternate contact number where your driver can reach you. Additionally, we encourage you to take any necessary steps to fulfill your provider’s insurance claim requirements.

Return Fee:

To compensate your driver for their time and effort, riders may be subject to a return fee of $20 for the retrieval of a lost item. The full amount of this fee goes to the driver. You won’t be charged until the driver confirms that they have successfully returned your lost item. If you wish to show appreciation to your driver, consider leaving an extra tip as well.

Note: Tips, whether given in-app or as cash, do not count toward the return fee. The return fee will be charged to your ride after the item is returned. Our members enjoy the benefit of waived lost and found fees.

Additional Options:

While RYDR does not provide insurance, replacements, or reimbursement for lost items, we recommend contacting your local authorities to file a police report if you’ve lost items containing sensitive or personal information. If the police reach out to us with the necessary paperwork via email, we’ll assist them to the best of our ability. Please review our Law Enforcement Requests page for further information on police outreach.

It’s important to note that we cannot guarantee immediate retrieval or delivery of lost items. As per RYDR’s Terms of Service, we do not procure insurance for, nor are we accountable for, personal belongings left in vehicles by drivers or riders. Consequently, we cannot offer refunds for rides or reimbursements for the value of lost items.
